Deepening its web3 engagements, BlackRock has diversified its portfolio with the strategic acquisition of memecoins, NFTs, and crypto tokens, collectively valued at $40,000.
All was made possible through the finance giant’s partnership with Securitize Markets — a digital, regulation-compliant platform — enabling a $100 million investment in Ethereum’s USDC stablecoin, which is pegged to the U.S dollar.
Making use of the USDC, BlackRock’s eclectic digital asset collection now includes Ordinals Pepe, CryptoDickbutts NFTs, unshETHing_Token, Mog Coin, and the Realio Network’s $RIO token.
Highlighting the impact of these acquisitions, CoinGecko reports a remarkable 64.5% increase in the daily volume of the $RIO token after joining BlackRock’s portfolio.

BlackRock’s web3 arena signifies a pivotal shift in CEO Larry Fink’s stance from skepticism to advocacy for blockchain tokenization to revolutionize financial efficiency and access.
Highlighting its web3 commitment, BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF emerged as the leader in volume and net inflows among January’s new ETFs. It notably set a new trading record with 100 million shares just last week, on March 14.
Additionally, the banking giant’s web3 strategy includes the ‘BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund’ (BUIDL), which offers investors the opportunity to earn USD yields through Securitized Markets.
The Blackrock memecoins, NFTs, and crypto tokens further highlight the banking titan’s acknowledgment of blockchain’s role in modern finance.
